Greetings and happy 2019! As I begin my term as DPTA President, I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by my fellow PT colleagues who contribute their time and expertise to serve the Delaware Physical Therapy Association. The DPTA leadership comes from all over the state and includes small business owners, a regional director of a skilled nursing facility company, outpatient clinicians, and PT educators. More information about our leadership can be found on DPTA’s website. Please get to know them!
I am thrilled to welcome Dan Klim as DPTA’s new Executive Director. Dan is also the Executive Director of the New Jersey chapter and I am confident, from the great things I have heard from the APTANJ, Dan will serve us well.
One of my priorities as DPTA President is to increase communication between the DPTA, our members, potential members, and the PT and PTA programs in our state. Our reveised e-newsletter is just one example. We will be sending out e-newsletters twice a month with timely information to our members about events, legislative issues, continuing education opportunities and other news that is pertinent to PT/PTA/students in our state.
This week, I will be in Washington, DC, attending leadership events at the 2019 Combined Sections Meeting. My leadership team has been great with updating me on happenings in our state so that I am prepared to represent us. With CSM being held so close to DE, I have heard from some of our members that this will be their first national conference. If you are attending, enjoy! And if you see me, please say hello. I will likely be found roaming around the Marriott as that is where most of my meetings are being held.
If you have any concerns, feedback, or want to get involved, " please reach out to us.
