Rent-a-PT Student, created by the Student SIG, is a fundraising initiative in which students raise money for the Marquette Challenge to support physical therapy research through the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
Since launching this initiative to support the Marquette Challenge, the students have reached out to faculty and staff who were able to “rent-a-PT student” and utilize the extra hands for projects around the house such as gardening and cleaning out the garage. Other projects include:
- 15 students helped with yard work, cleaning out a shed, putting together a dock and various other tasks that needed to be done around a lake house;
- 10 students helped with painting, house cleaning and yard work.
For each event, donations were about $10/hour per student. The students would like to continue this fundraiser for anyone in the Newark area who would like to participate. The above are just examples of what we have done previously but if there are any other projects you think would be appropriate, they are happy to accommodate them!
