ACTION: Delaware House Bill 359 – Practice Act Revision

June 10, 2014 //  by Stacie Larkin

The Delaware House Bill 359 – legislation that would modernize the Delaware physical therapy act – is being strongly opposed by the acupuncturists over the issue of dry needling.  Legislators are being provided misleading information about the education and qualifications of physical therapists!  Even if you do not personally perform dry needling, it is imperative we support our colleague who do. HB 359 has passed out of a critical House Committee and will next considered by the Delaware House of Representative within the next few days!  If it passes the House, it will then go over to the Senate for consideration. The Delaware Physical Therapy Association strongly SUPPORTS HB 359.

Please click on the following internet link to send an email to your state representative and state senator in Dover and urging them to SUPPORT HB 359.  It’s easy and only takes a minute – the email is already prepared for you: CLICK HERE.

Please be sure to follow up with a phone call to your state representative and ask them to please vote YES on HB 359 – the revision to the physical therapy statute – when it comes up for a vote in the House.  Please refer to the email you received on Friday, June 6  for instructions and talking points.

Please contact with questions.

Thank you for your dedication to the PT profession in Delaware!
