Family Fun Day, October 19: A Letter from the Class of 2015 and 2016

October 9, 2014 //  by Stacie Larkin

Dear Family Fun Day Supporter,

On Sunday October 19, 2014, from 11am-5pm the University of Delaware Physical Therapy Club will be hosting the 1st annual UDPT Family Fun Day for the Marquette Challenge with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation for Physical Therapy. We are inviting community members of all ages to come out to STAR campus at 540 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE 19713 to enjoy food (hotdog/hamburgers), a moon bounce, Spikeball tournament, carnival games, health screenings, silent auction and much more!

The proceeds for this fundraiser are going towards the UDPT students’ efforts in the Marquette Challenge to benefit the Foundation for Physical Therapy. The Marquette Challenge is an annual national competition among physical therapy and physical therapy assistant schools to raise money for this valuable cause. The Foundation for Physical Therapy provides grants and funding for a large number of high level, peer-reviewed research studies that help propel our profession.  For the past 14 years, the University of Delaware has participated in the Marquette Challenge raising a total of $43,826 for the Foundation of Physical Therapy. This year, our goal is to raise at least $6,200 in order to receive the “Foundation Award of Merit” and be inducted in the Philanthropy Circle at the 2015 gala at the NEXT Conference.

All of the students and faculty are excited and are working hard to make this day a fun event for everyone. If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation, checks can be made payable to the “University of Delaware Physical Therapy Club” and mailed to: Attn: Family Fun Day, Physical Therapy Department, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716. Donations can also be made online to the Foundation for Physical Therapy. Just please designate the University of Delaware when filling out the form so we get credit.

On Facebook, our event can be found by searching “UDPT Family Fun Day”. Additional information is on our fundraising Facebook page found by searching “UDPT Fundraising.” If you have any questions please contact Nicholas Rech at .

Sincerely,
