DPTA Lynn Snyder-Mackler, PT, ScD, ATC, SCS, FAPTA presented the 46th Mary McMillan Lecture: Not Eureka at APTA’s NEXT Conference and Exposition. Her lecture was directed to clinician-scientists who spend the majority of their time engaged in research, and highlighted 3 majors areas:
- Encouraged young clinicians to pursue formal research training and careers are clinician-scientists;
- Challenged mentors to model the rewards and realities of a career as a clinician scientist; and
- Urged the profession to provide rigorous and supportive environments in which clinician-scientists can produce quality research and scholarship.
