On October 1, 2015, the long-anticipated ICD-10-CM code sets will replace ICD-9-CM to report diagnoses and inpatient procedures. The transition will affect all entities and providers covered by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA). This transition may be challenging for providers, not the least because ICD codes are recorded on so many types of health records and are a key component in reimbursement, quality, utilization review, and other data management activities.
Please be sure to check out the free webinar in APTA’s Learning Center.
APTA also developed many other resources and tips to help you understand the transitional process and ease through a smooth transition. For more information on these ICD-10 resources, contact or click here.
